It is a grandeur tourist train that joins the tourist’s spots in the states of Goa, Karnataka, Pondicherry and Tamil Nadu. The journey with Golden Chariot is very unique and shows you the culture of Southern part of India. There are palaces, temples, exotic beaches, Backwaters and Wildlife it has stored all these for the visitors.  The Golden Chariot Started on 10th March 2008. This train is a conjoined of Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation to show Southern India’s opulence in short span of time. So the train got its name from the Stone Chariot from the famous Historic Hampi. Through the train you will travel the nights in various locations and then in day time explore it fully. The engineers who designed the Chariot had made it with nine hundred layouts. The main purpose to built this train was to make everyone unwind the south India and unfolds the architectural riches of the south. 

About The Golden Chariot

The Golden Chariot consists of forty four cabins with a very good interior with a attractive décor also has art amenities like Television with LCD, air conditioning, WIFI facility, with excellent bathrooms. Each has nineteen coaches that has windows from there you can gaze the southernmost part of India. Also the guest cabins are a perfect mixture of thirteen double beds with thirty twin beds and one cabin for various ambled people.  Each cabin has historical connect to it so they kept the name after the ancient dynasties that governed Kadamba, Karnataka, Ganga, Rastrakota, Chalukiya, Hoysala, Sangama, Bhahamani, Shathavashna, Vijayanagar and Yadukula. The train got renovated and running smoothly and there are new elements added to it. The train has a spa with two restaurants having a smart television with WIFI in each cabin. The train is top notch hotel with best facility. This train is constructed in such a good manner that now the guests need anything they want they will it on their finger tips. The whole train is well decorated with art facilities that has multi cuisine restaurant with grandeur cabins, sitting lounge, conference car with a Ayurvedic spa also having a bar lounge. The Chariot will take you to Mysore, Chikamgaluru, Bandipur, Hampi, Halebidu, Goa and Badami. The journey is divided into three groups first is Pride of Karnataka Tour- starting from Bangalore to Bandipur and then to Mysore and the next day from Mysore to Srirangapatnam and then to Banavar. The next from Banavar to Halebidu then to Chikmangalur. The next day to Hampi and then to Goa and from there to Bangalore. The second comes Jewels of South Tour starting from Bangalore to Mysore then to Hampi from there to Mahabalipuram then to Thanjavur and Chettinad then to Cochin from there to Kumarakom and then to Bangalore. The third ones is Glimpses of Karnataka Tour – Starting from Bangalore to Bandipur from there to Mysore and then to Hampi and then to Bangalore. 

THE GOLDEN CHARIOT DININGS – 

The train has two multi haute cuisines restaurants called as Nala and Ruchi. The décor is just fabulous the décor inside is straight away inspired by the Halebid and from the Hampi. For the food the Chariot provides with Fresh vegetarian and Non vegetarian food that is been served for the guests. Talking about the Nala Restaurant inside the Golden Chariot the decoration is ancient and the word Nala means the legendary king and the menu here are as follows in both vegetarian and non vegetarian as well so basically the tables here are set according to the groups that has four members and two that is close to the window sides this is generally done to enjoy their meals with scenic views.  Then comes the restaurant named Ruchi this word means taste the décor here is olden traditional way from the monuments. It somehow serves the special cuisines of Nala restaurant the taste is just flawless.  All these are given out by the friendly by the train staff everything is been look after carefully by them. The facilities are they have four seaters and two seaters with cozy sofas with chairs and a paranomic range of national as well as international dishes served here. There are carpeted floorings that make it more royal and real. 

The Golden Chariot Lounge BAR – 

The bar name is Madira that historically means drink of the Gods this is one of the best place to get rid of your stress. It has a wide range collection of good wines and drinks. The decoration inside is design of beautiful Mysore Palace. For entertainment there are local artisians and some lifting songs that make your evening more memorable. There are some Barmen who help you to choose some of the best drinks and wines. The bar also has some good snacks to munch with your drinks. The bar is the idle and perfect place to relax and chat with your friends and enjoy the moments. There are perfect seating arrangements for the guests to visit. 

THE GOLDEN CHARIOT FACILITIES- 

The Golden chariot consists of all the facilities inside it. Like you have Indoor games- that have puzzles, carom board, Chinese checkers, chess etc. Wifi- it will keep you connected with your loved ones. Medical aid – medical services are available for the guests well a doctor is also arranged for you at various locations. Events on board- like you can also arrange wedding on the train and business meetings. Bathroom – you will be provided with attached washroom and toiletries. Arrival kits – every passengers is greeted with a warm welcome by a glass of wine the kit has brochures and stationery items. Newspaper magazines – to keep you updated they will provide you with newspaper and magazines to keep you informed. A grandeur spa – A spa is been available on train that provides you with therapeutic massage that rejuvenates your body. Elements – you will have lounge with sofas, Television that has LCD and DVD players. Khidmatdar – there will always be an attendant near you in your service to cater you well. 

Details

Day 1 - Sunday (Bengaluru to Bandipur)

Guests arrive at Yeshvantpur Railway Station at around 0845 hrs. Tour Briefing onboard. Lunch onboard. Deboard at Nanjangud Town at 1400 hrs. 50 km by road to Bandipur. Evening Safari at Bandipur from 1630 to 1830 hrs. Return to train for dinner. Train proceeds to Mysore and stationed overnight at Mysore.

Day 2 - Monday (Mysore)

Breakfast onboard. Visit Mysore Palace. Return to train for lunch. Optional visit to Srirangapatnam. Dinner onboard.

Day 3 - Tuesday (Halebidu and Chikamgaluru)

Breakfast onboard as train arrives at Banavar Rly Station. Visit Halebidu from Banavar Rly Station at 0800 hrs. Return to train by 1130 hrs. Train proceeds to Chikamagalur. Lunch onboard. Deboard at 1500 hrs to visit plantations followed by coffee tasting and dinner. Return to train.

Day 4 - Wednesday (Hampi)

After early breakfast onboard, proceed to visit Hampi ruins. Lunch onboard. Indian Evening onboard.

Day 05 - Thursday (Pattadakal & Aihole)

After breakfast onboard, optional visit to Badami Caves. (200 steps to climb). Lunch onboard. 1415 hrs deboard to visit Pattadakal and Aihole. Dinner onboard.

Day 06 - Friday (Goa)

Onboard breakfast. Proceed to visit Churches of North Goa and Museum. Lunch onboard. Deboard for a Bollywood Evening and dinner at a resort/hotel. Return to the train by 2145 hrs. Train proceeds to Yehswantpur.

Day 07 - Saturday (Bengaluru)

Breakfast on board. Trip ends.
